Bio. Sara Boyd has a large cadre

The Doctor was Blinded after two tragedies,
Nozawa’s will to live a full life continues undeterred
The Doctor is living proof that a person can do everything right only to suffer horrific events that
stymied decades of
hard work and left him blind. The two most gruesome tragedies he suffered would
make the fire-breathing Godzilla buckle in bitterness. Not Nozawa.
He’s grateful just to be alive.
Japanese, Nozawa had played high school football in Honolulu and later became a professional body builder. When he moved to Washington, the muscle-bound Nozawa enrolled at the University of Washington’s dental school, studied hard and faithfully graduated. Yet years later, after opening a handful of dental clinics, when he could finally afford the lifestyle he had always wanted, a tree came crashing down and foiled all his best-laid plans.
It was the first of two tragic events that would change his life forever.
During
his resultant and prolonged stay in the hospital, and as he took a year to
learn to walk again, his wife Debra Nozawa
hired temporary dentists to keep the clinics open. Yet when the businesses
performed poorly under the temporary staff’s care, family finances plummeted
and with all of his medical bills accumulating, Nozawa
felt he needed to return to work.
That’s
when Nozawa realized he could not perform his
dental duties to the high standard that he was accustomed. Even with assistive
devices for the seeing impaired, he felt his dentistry skills were now
sub-standard and that’s why he closed his clinics.

Caught
in the middle of the couple’s domestic violence incident one fateful night,
John William Branden first shot his wife, Turid Lee Bentley, dead then shot Nozawa in the head from 12 inches away before
finally shooting himself. The crime shocked the community of Gig Harbor where
it occurred, and received its due amount of attention in area newspapers.
Looking back on it, Nozawa said that getting
shot feels like thumping your forehead with the heel of your hand – it does not
hurt. He did not yet know that the bullet had shattered and bore a hole through
his palate, destroying molars, nearly severing his tongue, and destroying his
only eye. All he knew was that he could not see and he was bleeding.
Missing
both eyes, Nozawa has had to get used
to moving about indoors and out. Shortly after the shooting and recovery, he
realized that he desperately needed help learning to navigate so he signed up
for Washington State’s Department of Services for the Blind.
At
blind school, Nozawa stayed in an
apartment offered through the Orientation and Training Center, in South
Seattle. There he learned how to maneuver with a cane, how to find addresses,
cross the street safely and navigate a kitchen, among other things.
These
days Nozawa has global plans for his business,
Transformational Kaizen Institute for Personal Freedom.

that his family has stuck by him. “My wife Debra had to do a lot after I was in
the car wreck and again after getting shot,” he said. “We went from awfully
rich to rock-bottom penniless and almost homeless.”
Debra
Nozawa now owns The Ruston Chapel, for
weddings and social events. She is also the executive manager of Picasso
Catering in Tacoma.

About Nickolas
Nickolas Vassili’s
professional career spans a period of 48 years, during which time he
has conducted more than 15,000 individual and group sessions, trained
untold numbers of therapists, and helped create the foundation for many
of the group dynamics now used throughout America.
Drawing from a wide array of treatment modalities and concepts such as reality/encounter/confrontational therapy, hypnosis, mind reprogramming (now called NLP), psychodrama, psycho-motor, sensitivity training, resistance stretching, Transcendental meditation (TM), Eastern philosophies, and many levels of conventional psychotherapy, NV exemplifies the 1970s-era philosophy of different strokes for different folks!
In 1965 he was named Executive Director of Encounter, Inc., in New York City, which was America’s first community-based drug prevention and treatment facility, and regarded more like a main branch of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
In 1969 NV founded his own therapeutic center in New York called Journey-Alert, Inc., a non-profit educational corporation that treated all manner of human problems, and all forms of addictions.
Over the years, he also worked with war veterans, inmates in state prisons, people in mental institutions and institutes for the criminally insane, and a number of schools of higher learning including Hofstra University, where he established a training program for students, faculty, and administrators.
NV has lectured and spoken before hundreds of audiences, made numerous guest appearances on radio and television, been interviewed by many talk-show hosts, participated in seminars, debates, and city, state, and national training programs, and was directly involved in the re-birth of “The Humanist Movement” in America in the 1970s
In 2007, he wrote his autobiography, So Much Pleasure, So Little Pain, and authored Monument To Failure, a 30 year comprehensive study of the American healthcare system . In 2009, he published Depression – It Doesn’t Exist, a Guide to Understanding, Preventing, and Curing Depression.
Unlike most therapists, doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists who specialize in only one form of treatment (along with drugs, of course), in his private practice, NV utilizes everything he has learned, and trained others to use, which allows him much greater scope and latitude in dealing with all human problems.

I am a lover of art, movement, music, nature, humanity and cosmology.
The Universe and natural world are among my greatest teachers. I hold a
Masters degree in Culture and Creation Spirituality, with a
concentration in Art as Meditation. My decades in the professional world
of Mind/Body/Spirit education have taken me across the globe into
diverse learning/teaching environments. Over the years, my development
has been enriched through study with various mentors, and teachers whom
have inspired me to develop my unique masteries. I am a long time
practitioner of several schools of yoga, dance, healing and expressive
arts. I am an author, recording artist, entrepreneur and founding principal of Source Consulting Group.
Michael Becherer | Zen Teacher, Energy worker
I have been steeping in universal wisdom teachings, contemplative expressive arts and energy medicine for over 20 years. My guidance is infused with pure love and sober clarity. My practice includes work with individuals, couples and groups, as well as design and facilitation for special events and retreats. I dive into the heart of matters with you, using the truth as guide and the creative process as a catalyst for transformation. I love walking with people as they access authentic voice and movement and meet their evolutionary edges. I am passionate about the alchemy and art of life and pioneering into new territory of what it means to be fully alive. As a facilitator and consultant, my approach is holistic, compassionate and integrative. I weave program designs to catalyze client breakthroughs and maximize emergent intelligence. My sessions and program designs go outside of the box of “talk therapy” and didactic learning. My style is not mainstream: as a lover of direct experience and multi faceted expression, my facilitation may include visual journaling, authentic movement, inquiry, poetry, music, dance, ritual, and energetic anatomy. Sessions are tailored to meet unique client needs.
