This is a very public letter with some of my most private thoughts and feelings. I write it in the hope that it will reach ears that will listen, eyes that will open, hearts that will feel our plight and voices that will change minds.
My name is Joanna Hosking, I am a wife, mum and a farmer to name a few of my roles. I am not eloquent by any stretch of the imagination so what I write is how I feel. If you don’t like that idea, don’t read this!
Recently I attended the Parliamentary hearing on the Vegetation Management Laws and it was full of farmers, old and young who share the same passion for the land as I do. It occurred to me there were several people missing. To name a few they were the local hairdresser, clothes shop owner, butcher, baker, hardware shop owner and publican. It may not have occurred to them that they should have put in a submission as to how these laws will affect them. If the farmers leave the land they will have no one to support them. How many rural towns will die if farmers are forced off their land? It doesn’t stop there. Rates for local councils will go down as the unimproved valves of farms is reduced. Who will pay the rates on vacant land? Will councils still be able to keep up roads? Does it matter as there will be no one out there anyway!
Where will the farmers go? The only place for us will be in the city. There we will add to the demands on public services, pollution and demand for jobs. Some will be employable, some won’t adding to the need of government support. This is no life for a farmer. There will be a percentage that takes their own life. Leaving behind family members that must deal with the fact that they couldn’t help a loved one. A loved one so traumatised by the loss of their land, their livelihood and their soul. We put our heart and soul into caring for our properties.
        I will also tell you of another group of people who have no voice at this stage and cannot put in a submission. It’s a group who are not even a twinkle in their Daddy’s eye or a lump in their Mummy’s tummy yet! A future generation not yet born who would have grown to love this land, care for this land and respect this land. A generation who will never know the joy of producing good quality food for people to eat, fibre for them to wear or even a bunch of flowers for someone’s table. I also feel for the generation who will only know imported food, fibre and flowers. Two groups who might look at old photos and say “wow what a life our ancestors had”.
I feel for my generation and that of my kids, who want to come back to the land. We want to grow clean, green, quality products. Products that we can export to the world. Feed the world, clothe the world and change peoples lives. If the dollars that the government make from exports involving primary production are not enough then for goodness sake help us to make them more. Don’t tie us up in red tape and don’t turf us off our land. Help us make ourselves more sustainable. We are pretty damn good at it at the moment. We are innovative, we are improving our soils and we are environmentalists. If we don’t look after our land it won’t look after us, it’s that simple. We don’t want handouts we want people to support us. We want people to know that we wouldn’t sell them food that we wouldn’t eat ourselves. We wouldn’t produce fibres that we wouldn’t wear ourselves. I know there is an element out there that does the wrong thing, but I’m sure there is a trustworthy politician and used car salesmen out there also! What I’m saying is every industry has good and bad!
So please share my letter if you think it is worthy. Remember us farmers when you go shopping and more importantly when you vote. If you can, ask the hard questions of the politicians. Where do you stand on these laws? Do you realise the impact they will have on every single Queenslander? Tell them you don’t want your food and fibres imported. We have a great primary production industry that continues to grow in spite of what government throws at us, but I will tell you now that some of us are tired of fighting. Tired of the uncertainty. And very tired of trying to work our farms and deal with what the government are doing to us. Is there a future in farming? If these laws go through...NO. If they don’t then I guess we will hang on till the next fight. Will there be another fight for us? HELL YES. Wanna know what it is? Mining again and water. Water?? Yep the government charge us to take water and then they want to charge us for storing it. Last I heard that was called double dipping. But I will admit I haven’t looked into it fully, but I’ll keep you posted. It is interesting to note that these new laws, to the best of my knowledge do not apply to mining and developers. Fair??? You be the judge. Come and visit I’ll show you what we have to deal with and how we are trying to make ourselves more sustainable, profitable and produce a quality product.

Here’s what I see – and it hovers in front of me – halfway chimera and half way reality. I see that we are – at an admittedly still quite tentative level – actually sickening of our Kali Yuga schooled desire ‘to have’ and to conform; and that our new propensity is moving us ever closer to a desire ‘to Be’ and to cease to conform.

The more this inclination gains strength, the more we experience ‘being’ as the true expression of what it means to be human. So different from the dead weight of the ‘having’ mode. A state of consciousness that lifts us out of our old serfdom, connecting-up past, present and future and merging them into an inseparable continuum. A quantum state of oneness with our indestructible divinity.

Here, in this place, what we see ahead of us is a projection of the vibrancy of the now. There is no preplanned future to suffocate our creativity. All time is pulled into a vibrant ever expanding present, and we are in the driving seat of change.

We ‘the people’ are getting ever closer to gaining this insight and the illuminated powers that go with it. The future we collectively see, while in this state of oneness, is the future we will go on to build. It is a state of consciousness, that when experienced by a critical mass of individuals, will finally collapse the age old status quo and all the heinous repression that goes with it.

Although the war tainted darkness presses-in around us, a great awakening of humanity is not far off. An age of emancipation, in which we are able to break-free of our slavery and take a controlling influence over our lives, as well as the health and welfare of our beleaguered planet. At one with the very universal forces from which we were birthed in the first place.

So, onwards, onwards, fellow adventurers. The answer to our calling is at hand. The predestination master plan is shredding. Our oppressors are loosing their grip on the reins of power; and with our active help – will soon be in full retreat. Their mission to conquer and enslave the spirit of man and of Earth, will be overcome, and will end in abject failure.

Hail to that great day, Together as "ONE"

This next information is very important and very dear to my heart. Because I am not a pastor I am not comfortable telling people how to choose their own mission or what to do on a daily basis. I regularly decline to offer guidance to those who ask me. Although grateful and humbled by their faith in me, for the most part I tell those individuals who are inspired by my writings on PFC and my work here to seek within how to find their own note in the symphony of transfiguration. However this cause is so heart rendering and so desperate that I am full throttle going to use my name on this site and your attention to heal this open wound upon humanity. Will you please help?

Innocent children the world over are suffering through no fault of their innocent selves. Through Hope Girl and Bethany I have met a true hero Christopher Kala, a 28-year-old former orphan who has through sheer determination, will and dedication out of love to his children has for 9 years built an orphanage in Moshi Tanzania from the ground up with occasional assistance from different people.

The government recently arrested him because he cannot pay fees for such an institution. (WTF?) Luckily the for him the 23 children he cannot feed every day followed the arrest crying and pleading for his release which was granted (some policemen do have hearts). The children refused to leave the police station until he was released.

Though he is out of jail, the threat of incarceration still looms as bureauacracy continues to oppress the innocent. I decree that “One day every innocent child will be cared for by loving parents and have a bed clothes, a roof and food for them so they do not go to bed hungry, SO BE IT!”

I called this amazing man on Skype to meet him and he was outside his village with a stick foraging for vegetables for his 23 children, a stick! Christopher, who makes us all look selfish by his selfless service every single day as he passionately pursues dignity, education and more importantly food shelter and clothing for his incredible 23 children. I am in awe of this man as I was scared to death to have my son when he was a toddler sometimes for only a week. Please watch this very poor quality video (sorry it was to a cell phone in Moshi) to meet Chris and his children.

Chris and several others have built literally stone by stone a wonderful bastion of love to protect these beautiful children from the street, unsavory characters and the trash heaps where he gathered them from. Some of these children have AIDs from their parents who have died. He is fearless and works hard everyday for his jewels with joy in his heart. The interview with Bethany, the sweetheart who created the go fund me campaign to help Christopher, will surely touch your hearts, as she shares her efforts for over a year.

By watching you will know this is a real and desperate need. This situation is crying for our support. I know there are thousands of people with enough money to make a real difference to these children by not only covering governments fees but to help them get FOOD!

Please, please, please help me to allow Christopher not only to pay the government’s ridiculous “FEES” of 4,000.00 dollars, but let us help Chris be able to feed these children as well. I just know some person will donate a large amount to insure food for these children as well.
